The WIDA-ACCESS Placement Test is an English language proficiency screener test given to incoming students who may be designated as English language learners (ELLs). It assists educators with programmatic placement decisions such as identification and placement of ELLs.
Online Administration for 2018-19: Both the WIDA screener and the ACCESS test will move to an online format for the 2018-19 school year. Check out the ACCESS Online Transition one-pager for more information. The WIDA screener will replace the W-APT assessment in July/August for all grades except kindergarten and will help educators identify and support newly-enrolled English language learners. The ACCESS test will move online in January.
Please note: you must have a WIDA account to access some of the resources in the WIDA download library. Here you will find information about ACCESS as well as the WIDA standards, can do descriptors, and many other resources.

W-APT assessments will be due within 10 days from the first day of school for students that enroll within the first month of school. After the first month of school the due dates will be reduced to 4 days after the student’s first day of school.
W-APT is not a district-wide assessment and individual results are not published.
